Professor Kenneth Belanus received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1975 and his Master's degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1989.
Before coming to OSU, Professor Belanus worked as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology at the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown, PA. He also worked for Halliburton Energy Services in Dallas, Texas. His focus was primarily in design, software design, stress analysis, application seminars. Professor Belanus also worked for Tenneco Oil Company in Lafayette, LA. as project engineer--offshore operations and Texaco Inc. in Houma, LA as a Field Engineer.
Currently, Professor Belanus teaches: Statics, Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Instrumentation, Heat Transfer, Finite Element Analysis and Senior Design Projects.
His interests and hobbies include: Family activities, woodworking, International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), numerical thermal and stress analysis, data acquisition and analysis.
